Roof shrink wrap for large or long-term roof damage

When a roof has widespread damage or the replacement is months away, a tarp is not enough. Shrink wrap is a heavy plastic film heat-sealed into one continuous skin over the roof. There are no seams for wind to catch and no edges for water to run under.

When to call

  • Large sections of roof damaged by wind or fire
  • Commercial or flat roofs with multiple leak points
  • Roof replacement backlogged after a hurricane
  • Insurance claim still in dispute and roof needs protection

What's included

  • Heavy-gauge shrink film
  • Seamless heat-sealed installation
  • Wind strapping and venting
  • Residential and commercial roofs
  • Documentation for insurance

Working with your insurance

We photograph and measure everything before work starts and keep daily logs while equipment runs. That documentation goes to your adjuster so your claim reflects the real damage. You choose your contractor, and you can call us before you call your insurance company.

How we handle roof shrink wrap

  1. Measure and document

Photos and measurements of the damaged roof for your claim.

  2. Prep the roof

Debris removed and sharp edges padded so the film is not punctured.

  3. Install and heat seal

Film is laid, strapped and heat-shrunk tight to the structure.

  4. Vent and inspect

Vents added where needed; follow-up checks after major weather.

Questions

Roof Shrink Wrap FAQ

Is shrink wrap better than a tarp?

For small, short-term damage, a tarp is fine and costs less. For large areas, flat roofs or protection lasting several months, shrink wrap holds up much better against Florida wind and sun.

How long does shrink wrap last?

Properly installed shrink wrap commonly lasts 6 months to a year, depending on sun exposure and storms.
