Emergency roof tarping that stays put through the next storm

A tarp thrown over a roof and weighted with a few bricks blows off in the first afternoon storm. We install heavy-duty tarps secured with battens over the ridge so wind cannot get under them, and we photograph the damage first so your claim is protected.

When to call

  • Tree limb or tree on the roof
  • Missing shingles, tiles or exposed decking
  • Active leak in a ceiling during rain
  • Fire damage that opened the roof

What's included

  • Heavy-duty UV-resistant tarps
  • Batten-secured installation over the ridge
  • Before and after photos
  • Interior leak check
  • Upgrade to shrink wrap for large areas

Working with your insurance

We photograph and measure everything before work starts and keep daily logs while equipment runs. That documentation goes to your adjuster so your claim reflects the real damage. You choose your contractor, and you can call us before you call your insurance company.

Our process

How we handle emergency roof tarping

  1. Inspect and photograph

We document the damage from the roof and attic before covering it.

  2. Clear debris

Loose debris and small limbs are removed so the tarp lies flat.

  3. Install and secure

Heavy-duty tarp over the ridge, fastened with wood battens along the edges.

  4. Check inside

We check the attic and ceilings for water and start drying if needed.

Questions

Emergency Roof Tarping FAQ

Does insurance pay for roof tarping?

Emergency tarping is usually covered as mitigation because it prevents more damage. Keep the invoice and photos; we provide both.

How long can a roof tarp stay on?

A properly installed tarp typically lasts 60 to 90 days in Florida sun. If your roof replacement will take longer, shrink wrap is a better option.
